THE METHOD IS SIMPLE , EASY AND VIRTUALLY PAIN-
FREE. |
| |
A series of tiny injections under the skins' surface.
Artecoll is mainly composed of tiny beads (microspheres) of PMMA that remain in place indefinitely . Artecoll fills the gaps, raising the skin to its normal height.
The procedure is done in the doctor's office. Over time (2-3 months), your body will permanently anchor Artecoll for a long-
lasting effect.

POST - TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS FOR ARTECOLL P- ATIENTS |
| |
Artecoll is an injectable implant used to treat static facial lines , enlarge lips , fill in facial imperfections , and diminish nasal labial folds . The product is permanent.
Artecoll is purchased by the syringe and the amount required depends on the degree of correction required . This can usually be determined by Dr. Middleton . It is important to remember that the complete effect of the implant will not be apparent for up to three months. If you desire further correction, you must wait for that amount of time before booking another appointment to purchase additional Artecoll . No follow-up is otherwise required.
There is no sedation or local anesthetic required and patients are able to resume normal activities immediately after their treatment . The effects of the topical anesthetic applied to the treated areas are temp- orary and sensation will return within an hour of the treatment.
After your Artecoll treatment some redness or swelling may occur. This can be treated with ice and will last from a few hours to a few days. Br- uising , while infrequent , usually lasts 1-2 days , although this varies from patient to patient. Again , ice can be applied should bruising occur. In order to minimize the risks of lumps developing , it is important to massage the implant for a few minutes every few hours for the first couple o f days after your injection. This will help to ensure that it rem- ains soft and evenly spread throughout the treated area. It is possible
that after the swelling has gone down , the results of the injection may seem to diminish . This is a normal occurrence resulting from the collagen component of the Artecoll being reabsorbed by your body . The desired results will be evident over the next few months as your body manufactures your own collagen capsules around the individual pa- rticles of the injected polymethylmethacrylate contained within the Ar- tecoll. |
